With the CIST (Center for Information Systems Training) started in Phnom Penh in 2005:

1. A center has been built, with a capacity of 240 students trained on site

147 students are currently being trained.

2. Starting October, 2005, each year a growing number of students has been enrolled

         - 25 students in 2005,

        -  67 students in 2006,

         - 86 students in 2007.

As of January 2008, 20 students completed CIST training

-         All of them got a job within 2 months after the end of their final internship, in quality companies (including United Nations Agencies, IT service providers, micro-finance institutions...)

-         Their monthly salary range from $100 to $250, to be compared to a national average income of $50, or the salaries of our trainers ($150 for a Teacher of English and $250 for an IT Engineer)

-         Among the 5 students that were re-oriented at the end of year one, 1 got a job in IT, 2 are working as basic administration assistants and 2 were financed by their NGOS to continue their studies in other institutions.

Furthermore :

1. We have developed a social inclusion model which works

This model is flexible and replicable on the following points:

-         The student selection process that enables us to rigorously select only the students that have the right capacities and motivation, among the students who meet our social criteria, on a nationwide level,

-         The development of training curricula that are constantly tuned to closely match the market needs and its evolutions,

-         A pedagogical approach turned towards the specificities of these underprivileged young people, thus including not only technical training but giving a strong focus on:

a.      The knowledge of English and communication skills,

b.      Values and behaviors expected in the business world,

c.      Personal development.

-         A methodology and tools to help these students find a job at the end of their training, based on a strong networking with local companies.

2. We have developed a model of skills sponsorship

Following the initial commitment of Accenture (more than 40 missions since 2005), our innovative model of relying on volunteer missions to bring the project to a high level of professionalism has been extended to other sponsors: Steria (6 missions in 2007), ECS (4 missions), Novell (4 missions)…

3. We have  reached a high level of visibility and notoriety in Cambodia

It is now seen as a reference for IT education. Several prestigious national and international organizations as well as leading NGOs have recently approached CIST.
