Over the past three years at PNV, Đức Quyền – an alumnus of the 2022-2025 cohort – has left his mark with passion and wholehearted dedication, from academics to extracurricular activities. To his friends, he is cheerful and kind-hearted; to juniors, he is the caring big brother; and in the eyes of teachers, he is the persistent student who never stops striving forward. For Quyền, every step along the bridge built by PNV throughout these transformative years has become a deeply cherished part of his journey.

Believing that nothing is impossible, and growing through every opportunity.

Whether facing challenges or embracing opportunities, Quyền chose to step forward without hesitation, grounded in a firm belief in his own potential. From his dedication to learning to actively engaging in a wide range of extracurricular activities at PNV, from leading as Student Association President to stepping beyond his comfort zone and moving to a new city for study and work – each experience was embraced with intention and determination, equipping him with essential skills and laying a strong foundation for his future.

Building my own bright bridges to the future.

Yet, this journey has never been an easy one. Like many other PNV students, Quyền once faced uncertainty, moments of self-doubt, and the instability that often comes with youth. But over time, that once hesitant freshman has grown stronger and more confident. Uncertainty has gradually given way to clear direction, concrete plans, and ever-expanding aspirations.

“Once I have a relatively stable job, I will continue my studies. I don’t want to stop at a college degree – I plan to pursue a university degree to gain a deeper understanding of my field. I hope I can pass on to my siblings a sense of motivation for learning and support them in going as far as they can in their education.

In the future, I will use what I’ve learned to achieve my dream: to build my own company and turn my childhood dream of becoming a startup CEO into reality.“

Today, those goals are gradually coming to life. Six months after graduation, Quyền is now working as a Software Engineer at CBTW – the very company where he once interned during his final year. No longer an intern, he now carries greater responsibilities and faces higher expectations. Yet, he has never shied away from challenges. Instead, Quyền continues to embrace each one with confidence, maintaining a strong learning mindset and proactively developing himself every day with the support of his colleagues.

With the invaluable foundation that PNV has given him, he is confident in his journey ahead – steadily moving forward and reaching for goals that once felt far beyond his grasp.

“The Diamond Bridge”

That’s how Quyền describes his 3-year journey with PNV: a bridge built from knowledge and compassion. Strong, precious, and protective, it has equipped him not only with knowledge and skills but also with invaluable life values. And this bridge is not for Quyền alone. For over 15 years, Passerelles Numériques Vietnam has empowered hundreds of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue their dreams. Each success story, each step forward taken by students, stands as the most meaningful testament to PNV’s enduring mission: transforming lives through education.

On March 12, 2026, Passerelles Numériques Philippines (PNPh), in partnership with the University of San Jose–Recoletos, successfully held the Internship Fair 2026 at the 14th Floor of the USJR Quadri-Centennial Building in Cebu City. The event gathered PN scholars from Class 2026 and industry partners for a full day of meaningful engagement, aimed at connecting students to real-world opportunities in the ICT sector.

The program opened with welcome messages from PNPh’s academic partner and training team, highlighting the importance of bridging education with professional experience. These opening remarks underscored PNPh’s commitment to equipping its scholars with not only technical competencies but also the confidence and readiness needed to thrive in the workplace.

Throughout the morning, partner companies including Accenture, Alliance Software, CBTW, Datawords, Geidi, House of IT, and Narrasoft introduced their organizations and shared insights on internship opportunities, workplace expectations, and the evolving demands of the tech industry. These sessions provided students with valuable perspectives on career pathways and the skills required to succeed in a competitive digital landscape.

The afternoon session continued with presentations from additional partners such as Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc., Viseo, and Kyocera, further enriching the learning experience of the scholars. The event then transitioned into its most interactive segment—booth visits and on-the-spot interviews—where students had the opportunity to directly engage with company representatives, ask questions, and present themselves as potential interns.

More than a career event, the PNPh Internship Fair 2026 served as a platform for empowerment. It enabled scholars, many of whom come from underserved communities, to access opportunities that bring them closer to sustainable employment. By fostering direct connections between students and industry, PNPh continues to strengthen its mission of breaking the cycle of poverty through education and professional integration.

Through initiatives like the Internship Fair, PNPh reaffirms its commitment to building bridges—from learning to livelihood—and empowering the next generation of IT professionals to create lasting impact in their communities.

Following the Internship Fair, applications are currently ongoing, as scholars continue to undergo screening and selection processes with partner companies. The internship program is expected to begin around June 2026 and will run for approximately six months, providing students with valuable hands-on experience in real work environments and further preparing them for full-time employment in the tech industry.

Guided by the inspiring theme, “From Learning to Leading: Building the Digital Future,” the ceremony recognized the graduates’ journey of growth, resilience, and readiness to make their mark in the digital world.

From the very first days of arriving in an unfamiliar city to pursue a completely new field of study, many PNV students began their journeys with that same courage. And Kim Thảo, an alumna of the 2017-2020 cohort at Passerelles Numériques Vietnam, was no exception.

Coming from the mountainous province of Quảng Bình (before Vietnam’s provincial merger), Thảo once held a very simple wish when she chose to join PNV: after graduation, she hoped to earn around 5 million VND a month – enough to support herself and help her family. Traveling, exploring the world, or pursuing bigger experiences were things she had never really imagined for herself back then.

Three years passed with steady effort and close support from PNV, and new doors gradually opened. Her third-year internship in Ho Chi Minh City at KMS Technology became a turning point – the first time she lived fully independently and began to see a world far broader than she had known before.

The strong foundation of knowledge, skills, and encouragement she received at PNV nurtured the confidence and resilience she needed to keep exploring new experiences, both professionally and personally.

Today, Thảo has been working for over three years at EPAM Systems, where she continues learning from experienced colleagues in an international environment, steadily developing herself while building a stable life to support her family.

At the same time, she has discovered a passion for trekking and nature exploration – something she once never believed she would have the chance to experience. As she traveled more and met people from different cultures, Thảo realized:

Of course, growth is never a smooth road. There are moments of exhaustion and self-doubt, but with persistence and determination, circumstances no longer define one’s limits. Learning each day, moving step by step, and refusing to give up – that is how Thảo began, and how she continues moving forward.

And Thảo’s story is just one of many inspiring journeys like this at PNV.

For more than 15 years, Passerelles Numériques Vietnam has supported hundreds of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in pursuing education and personal growth. Through each generation and every achievement – big or small – one truth becomes clear: when given an opportunity and the courage to keep going, students gradually outgrow their own limits, becoming more confident and ready to embrace experiences they once thought were beyond reach.

2025 has been a truly meaningful year for Passerelles Numériques Vietnam. As we marked 15 years of presence in Vietnam, this milestone was shaped by remarkable moments, collective efforts, and impactful achievements born from dedication and perseverance. Like a bridge weathered by time, the rains of challenges only made PNV more resilient, interspersed with sunny seasons of success and countless new dawns that ignited hope for hundreds of underprivileged students.

Strengthening the Bridge: Nurturing Resilience and Growth

Throughout the 2025 selection journey, from 491 applications, 49 outstanding students from 7 provinces were carefully selected for the new cohort. Representing strong diversity, 63% come from ethnic minority backgrounds and 61% are female – bringing fresh energy and resilience to the PNV family.

As the newest members of the house, PNV28 have been steadily adapting, learning with dedication, and preparing to rise in the academic year ahead.

In 2025, 4,134 teaching periods were delivered, alongside 20 skill-building workshops and 4 company visits, ensuring students were well-equipped with both technical expertise and professional readiness. These learning opportunities became steady beams of light, guiding students forward through changing skies.

Beyond academic development, personal growth and emotional well-being remained a central priority. Through 340 individual follow-up meetings for more than 125 students, PNV provided tailored guidance and close mentorship, helping students stay strong and shine brightly, even under unpredictable weather.

Through Every Season: United in Strength, Marking Our Milestones

None of this journey would have been possible without a strong and compassionate network of supporters. With the dedication of 80 committed partners and 76 devoted volunteers, they strengthened every bridge we build – ensuring that no student ever walks alone, while supporting long-term learning, engagement, and growth.

As these collective efforts matured and strengthened over time, PNV’s impact gained wider recognition. In 2025, PNV achieved 2 high-profile media features and received 2 official certificates of recognition from government-related organizations, reaffirming our credibility and trusted position in the education landscape.

The year was beautifully crowned by the celebration of PNV’s 15th Anniversary, welcoming nearly 400 guests to honor a journey shaped by perseverance, partnership, and an unwavering belief in the power of education. More than a milestone, this moment reminded us that every weathered bridge our students cross is strengthened by steady hands and hearts that walk together.

Guiding young dreams toward a brighter future has never been a journey taken alone. It is made possible thanks to the invaluable companionship of our partners, the generous commitment of our volunteers, and the unwavering dedication of the entire PNV team. In 2025 alone, KMS’s support contributed to more than 832 lessons, equivalent to 20,800 hours of English training across three student cohorts, alongside numerous personal development and life-skills activities. These foundations are vital in preparing PNV students to step confidently into the professional workplace of the future.

Beyond academics, KMS has paid special attention to student well-being by supporting improvements in dormitory facilities, study equipment, and living conditions. These practical contributions have helped create a secure and supportive environment where students can focus on learning and personal growth.

Workshops, career-sharing sessions, and academic events co-organized with KMS have further opened valuable opportunities for students to engage with real-world business environments, gain deeper industry insights, and move closer to their dream of becoming future technology engineers.

To ensure these impacts remain sustainable, KMS has also strengthened the foundation behind the scenes – the dedicated staff who quietly stand by students every day throughout their educational journey.

On a joyful December evening, the Passerelles Numériques (PN) community gathered to celebrate 20 years of impact, connection, and hope – two decades dedicated to empowering vulnerable youth through education and digital training. The anniversary theme, “Celebrating 20 Years of Impact and Our Bright Future,” resonated throughout the event, honoring not only PN’s achievements but also the spirit of solidarity and collective action that fuels its mission. This memorable celebration was made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of Officience, Practicio, and Causae.

The evening opened with the graceful Canh Dieu Vietnamese dance, a performance embodying harmony and aspiration.

Following this captivating introduction, Karyn Mikkelsen-Tillet, PN’s Global Partnerships Director, took the stage as the evening’s emcee to welcome guests and set the tone for the celebration. Duc Ha Duong, President of PN, delivered inspiring opening remarks alongside Phuong Do, PN’s Executive Director. Together, they traced the organization’s remarkable journey—from its first training center 20 years ago to a network now transforming thousands of young lives across Cambodia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Madagascar.

Karyn then introduced Isabelle Mas, Founder of Causae and PN Board Member, who led the evening’s central event — the roundtable discussion “Plus forts ensemble” (Stronger Together). The conversation invited guests to reflect on the vital role of partnerships in today’s complex global context. Beyond the festivities, it offered an opportunity for honest and thoughtful dialogue about how collaboration between foundations, companies, and NGOs continues to drive international solidarity. Participants shared both challenges and innovative solutions, showing how collective effort can spark enduring impact.

Moderated by Isabelle Mas, the discussion brought together distinguished voices including Philippe Walfard (AFD), Charlotte Raffet (AXIV-IT), Angelina Lamy (Fondation Accenture), Sarah Tirmarche (Epic Foundation), and Phuong Do (Passerelles Numériques). The panel explored how partnerships evolve and adapt during times of crisis—finding creative ways to maintain impact despite political uncertainty, reduced funding, and global economic pressures. From fair-shore digital outsourcing that values human potential to the use of artificial intelligence for inclusion, each speaker shared concrete examples of innovation serving humanity.

What stood out most throughout the conversation was a shared conviction: true resilience and innovation stem from partnerships grounded in a common purpose. By combining institutional support, entrepreneurial drive, and grassroots commitment, actors like AFD, AXIV-IT, Accenture, and Epic Foundation enable PN to continue its mission—training underprivileged youth in digital skills and opening the door to dignified, sustainable futures. The roundtable served as a powerful reminder that, even in uncertain times, we are stronger together.

After the discussion, guests enjoyed the French premiere of PN’s 20th anniversary video, retracing the organization’s history, milestones, and aspirations. Moving testimonials from founders, staff, and students captured what words alone could not—the passion, perseverance, and purpose behind every PN success story.

The grand finale came with a dazzling Apsara Cambodian dance performed by the ACK Cambodian Dance group, marking the joyful beginning of the dinner cocktail. As guests mingled, shared memories, and envisioned the road ahead, the evening’s energy remained vibrant—a celebration not only of PN’s past but of the shared journey toward a brighter, more inclusive future.

Twenty years on, Passerelles Numériques stands as a living testament to the power of education, solidarity, and hope. And as the celebration reminded all who attended, the mission continues — together, hand in hand, for the next generation.

In 2025, Passerelles Numériques (PN) launched a major initiative with Batik International to mainstream gender equality across its four centers in Cambodia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Madagascar. Gender equality has always been central to PN’s mission. Recognizing the importance of engaging our partners (academic institutions, IT and digital company partners) and fully equipping our staff as ambassadors, this year’s project began with a comprehensive gender diagnostic for each center and targeted training for local teams. This approach establishes a solid foundation for sustained, structural change. 

A four-country gender diagnosis: understanding practices and gaps

PN and BATIK appointed two focal points per center to serve as gender referents. Together with Batik International, they carried out an in-depth self-assessment using data collection grids, collaborative analysis workshops, and integration webinars. Over the months, teams shifted from uncertainty to active engagement, gradually building confidence in discussing sensitive issues like intersectionality and gender-based violence.

Key implemented activities across centers : 

Cambodia (PNC): Provision of menstrual products, responsible partner selection with the 50% girls quota and exposure to female role models during company visits, testimonies.

Vietnam (PNV): Intersectional recruitment reaching ethnic minority schools during the selection process, strong staff training on gender issues and an active alumni network.

Philippines (PNPh): Gender-responsive budgeting activities, strong focus on mental health and psychological safety.

Madagascar (PNM): Early gender parity in recruitment both for students and staff, supporting students in reflecting on family roles and raising families’ awareness of evolving family dynamics, and focus on female role models.

Across all centers, gender data collection was already systematic, but the next step is to strengthen analysis and use findings to update policies, training content and support mechanisms. An area for improvement was identified by BATIK : involving students in the diagnostic process would help ensure their perspectives are better reflected in future evaluations.

Overall, the diagnosis revealed increasing ownership of gender issues and set clear recommendations: reinforce gender referents, build an internal gender toolkit, deepen intersectional understanding, and use informal spaces (clubs, student life) to further integrate gender awareness.

Gender awareness training: strengthening core capacities for staff and partners

PN Cambodia hosted a two-day gender awareness training for staff and 15–20 partners, led by Batik International. Using participatory methods, such as Privilege Walk, and story-based Gender Based Violence cases, the sessions helped participants understand how gender is socially constructed, how inequalities intersect and how violence manifests in multiple forms (physical, psychological, economic, sexual). 

Participants reported learning new concepts, especially economic violence, intersectionality, and differentiating stereotypes from discrimination. Based on an external evaluation, all expressed motivation to reuse the tools with colleagues and students, confirming a shift from awareness to practical engagement.

Roundtable: Women leading Cambodia’s future in business and tech

Beyond the training activities, PN also organized a roundtable “Connect and Co-Create: Women Leading Cambodia’s Future in Business and Tech” in Cambodia, gathering 68 participants, including 25 students, mainly female students, and four high-level female leaders from tech and business sectors. Although not all of them are Cambodian, they each represent key dimensions of Cambodia’s evolving digital and ICT landscape. Their presence offered valuable insights into the realities of the Cambodian labor market in IT, technology, and digital innovation.

The discussion, moderated by Alice Longuet, head of programs and partnerships at Batik International, featured four prominent women : 

• Adrienne Ravez-Men (Senior Advisor in AI, blockchain and Web3, co-founder of Global Innovation and Change), 
• Sopheap Im (Chief People Officer at Digital Divide Data for Cambodia).
• Oumuoy Heang (PNC Alumni and CEO of Asia Digital Technology Innovation), 
• Julie Keo (Head of Cambodia EU desk at DFDL and Vice-chair of Eurocham Cambodia), 
  

Speakers stressed that advancing gender equality in digital and business sectors requires both individual empowerment and systemic change. Leadership training, clear safety protocols, and anti-harassment measures were highlighted as essential, alongside creating spaces where women’s voices are truly valued.

Key themes included the importance of data for credible strategies, persistent stereotypes in tech, the slow progress of female leadership, and the need for corporate responsibility through measurable diversity actions and male alliance and support. Work-life balance was also discussed, emphasizing the cultural shift needed to share domestic and professional responsibilities equally. The panel put forward several concrete solutions, including mentorship opportunities, inclusive HR policies, the increased visibility of female role models, and flexible, diversity-driven corporate practices. Overall, the roundtable emphasized that genuine digital inclusion goes far beyond access alone: it requires creating an environment grounded in equality, safety, and empowerment, one that enables a new generation of confident female leaders to emerge and thrive.

Looking ahead

With a solid diagnostic foundation, increased staff awareness, and the momentum generated through open dialogue, PN is now entering a new phase of its gender equality initiative. The next steps involve deepening student engagement via club and curriculum enhancement, reinforcing coordination among gender focal points and transforming key insights into concrete policies and practical tools.

One message emerged throughout these efforts: true digital inclusion requires environments where equality, safety and representation are the NORM, not the exception.

What began as a pioneering program in Cambodia has blossomed into an international network spanning Southeast Asia and Africa. Together, we’ve empowered over 12,000 young people to break the cycle of poverty through digital education, with more than 3,000 alumni now building meaningful careers—92% finding employment within two months of graduation.

But our work is far from over. The rising cost of living and the growing needs of youth in vulnerable situations demand our continued commitment.
