PN’s third center

Launched in 2010 in Da Nang, Passerelles Numériques Vietnam (PNV), offers a 3 -year IT training program
based on a holistic educational approach including technical skills and professional development (or soft
skills). While at PNV, the basic needs of our students (housing, food, medical care and wellbeing) are covered.

Country context

Despite Vietnam experiencing one of the most significant economic growth rates in Southeast Asia over the past 15 years, 1 out of every 5 Vietnamese still lives on less than $5.50 per day (World Bank, 2023), and 26% of the population lacks access to the internet (World Bank, 2021).

There is a significant social, economic and geographic divide leading to less education opportunities in the central part of the country, where we chose to open our center.

Although 55.5% of the population is under 35 years old, more than half of young adults aged 16 to 20 do not have access to education.

Our students come from various remote regions, and about 30% of our students belong to ethnic minorities.

Our Training Program

Passerelles Numériques has implemented an innovative and comprehensive training
program in each of its centers, focused on long-term employability.

A college degree in Information Technology

Passerelles Numériques in Vietnam (PNV) offers a 3-year training program in IT for underserved Vietnamese youths that aligns with local tech market needs. The program is focused on Software Development and Testing (DeV) with 3 majors: Web Development, Mobile Development, and Automation Testing. Since 2017, PNV has been partnering with the Da Nang Vocational Training College, our academic partner.

At the end of the program, students receive a college degree in Information Technology from our academic partner and an international certificate from Passerelles Numériques.

Throughout their training, students benefit from comprehensive professional and technical skills, solid support for their professional integration and also participate in extracurricular well-being and personal development workshops.

Our Selection Process

Every year, from December to August, the Passerelles Numériques Vietnam selection team conducts a fair and rigorous 4-step selection process across many provinces of the country.Closely working with partner high schools and NGOs, the objective is to select 45 young talents from disadvantaged backgrounds who are motivated to join PNV.At least 50% are young women, in order to bridge the gender gap in tech and higher education.

Information sessions
December to February

1. Information sessions

Organized in some of the most remote regions, the objective is to inform students about training and career opportunities in the field of IT, and the PN program. To reach as many youths as possible, we have established strong and lasting partnerships with local associations and school networks..

Between 20 and 30 information sessions each year with between 1,000 and 2,000 students.

Written tests
March to April

2. Written tests

Following the information sessions, motivated and eligible students are encouraged to register for the written test. It includes English, Logic and Mathematics tests: total approximately 3 hours.

Between 200 and 300 students take the tests each year.

Career guidance sessions
March to April

3. Career guidance sessions

After passing the written exam, successful candidates are invited to a career guidance session to assess their motivation and aptitude to join our training program.

Between 150 and 250 students take a career guidance session to join the training.

Home visits
May to July

4. Home visits

In order to select the most disadvantaged, our teams of educators carry out a home visit to study the economic and social situation of the family. Indicators include: type of housing, number of siblings,  parent’s occupation, family income per capita, living area etc…

Each year, approximately 100 to 150 home visits are carried out.

Final selection committee
August

5. Selection committee

The selection process ends with a deliberation by the selection committee. This committee is made up of various PNV departments, including both the training team and the education team. It meets to select the 45 candidates who will be admitted into the program.

Ms Trang Nguyễn
Professional Life Trainer & English Teacher PNV since 2021

PNV and its professional life trainers not only provide valuable and instant feedback and guidance but also actively seek support from experts in partner companies and dedicated individuals.

This collaborative effort helps students refine their skills, broaden their perspectives, develop a growth mindset, and build confidence.

As a professional life trainer, I believe that PNV’s holistic training program with increased emphasis on soft skills training enables the students to understand the industry’s expectations, equips them with needed skills and prepares them for the challenges to remain competitive in the job market.

Xuân Nguyên
current student PNV - class of 2026

My academic life at PNV has been unforgettable so far. The learning environment not only focuses on IT but also encourages the development of soft skills and creativity.

The teachers and friends here have been a source of motivation, helping me to grow both personally and professionally. Despite being far from home and loved ones, I have learned how to face challenges, be independent, and take initiative. My relationships with classmates and senior students at PNV have played a crucial role in my learning process, as I regularly participate in group activities and attend cultural and sports events, creating a supportive and cohesive community.

Thanks to your invaluable support, I can continue my educational and personal development journey. I am committed to striving continuously and making efforts to live up to the trust and support of PNV.

Y Hôn
alumna - class of 2023

Reflecting on my past, before enrolling at PNV, I truly had no idea of IT. I didn’t even know what IT stands for.

During my journey as a PNV student, there were so many obstacles. Yet I always cherished a belief that if my classmates and other alumni could do it, then I could make it too. After completing my studies and training at PNV, I noticed a significant improvement.

The knowledge and skills acquired at PNV helped me greatly, especially during my internships. Receiving an official job offer right after completing my second internship, which is two months before graduation, was something I never expected!
