The end of year 2015 has been marked by two successful charity events organized to raise funds and celebrate the 10 years of Passerelles numériques.

In Hong Kong

On November 2nd, the PN Hong Kong team of volunteers arranged a very successful charity event. 150 international, young and generous guests participated in auctions held at this occasion. Thanks to the interest and generosity of the participants, a total of 245,498 HK$ (about 30,000€) were raised to support PN’s activity!

Surrounded by photos, videos and live painting by the artist Lyès Olivier Sidhoum, participants could raise the bids via their smartphones, adding a digital touch to this event.

After sharing a few words, our President Benoit Genuini, passed the floor to Ana Liza, a PN Philippines 2015 alumni, who made everyone’s heart pound as she shared her story and her love for Passerelles numériques. Now working for our long term partner Clicklabs, she looked back at her PN years and said that:

“Being a Passerelles numériques’ scholar is like being a part of a very big family where the staff are our strict but loving parents (…). Just like any good parents, they have installed to our minds and hearts the 3 core values that we are living: trust, solidarity and responsibility (…) My stay in PN is really worth it because I learned a lot. Not just lessons from school but lessons from a lot of people that helped me become what I am right now.”

In France

A few weeks later, on November 23rd, Passerelles numériques’ team in France – helped by a group of highly engaged volunteers, and by some of the Board members – organized a Charity dinner in the beautiful premises of Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild, in Paris.

Amid a friendly atmosphere, 200 guests got to know more about Passerelles numériques, while supporting the projects in Asia. The swing orchestra “Les Amuse-Gueules” set the tone of this festive evening which featured a big charity auction run by Maître Patrick Deguines.

61 items were generously donated by various artists, companies and individuals, and a number of people offered their skills and equipment in order to ensure that the evening ran smoothly (arrangement and exhibition of the auction items, decorative lighting of the tables, photographer, movie maker…).

15 students from IPAG Business School, and one student from Estice/Espas volunteered to help during the evening. Moreover, the champagne and wine served were donated by Carrefour.

All in all, thanks to everyone’s efforts and generosity, the evening was a success and the money raised for our charity project was enough to put around 70 students through school.

From Paris, to Hong Kong, passing by Cebu and many other places in the world, we’d like to thank everyone who took part in these events and actively contribute to the Passerelles numériques project!
