Meeting IT experts, a new internship program, a Career Seminar event, DevDay: here are some of the steps to guide PNV students towards their professional life. Let’s explore more about their progress during this guidance-to-employment period.

Students put their knowledge into practice through IT projects thanks to IT experts from companies.

PN Vietnam is creating more practical programs for the students to help them understand and experience working in companies to get ready for their future career. “Sharing Knowledge and Making a Difference” is a prominent example during which PNV invited senior employees from local IT companies such as Framgia Vietnam, Enouvo IT Solutions, SEADEV, Agility IO, to volunteer and guide our students in their Web Project. This co-working program gave our students guidance in self-development and self-study but also helped them realize their strengths and weaknesses throughout their different roles in their project.

“This program is a bridge for students to connect theory and reality, as the first step, in approaching working and interacting with IT experts from a real working environment,” said  Hoang Dang Quang, IT expert from Enouvo. He is one of the impressive volunteers who came every morning to help our students. He added: “PNV students are not only good at solid technical skills but they are also very active, hardworking and professional.”

“Soft outside and Hard inside” – DevDay Da Nang 2018

Another example worth mentioning is that PNV brought staffs and students joining DevDay Da Nang on 14th April, 2018 which is one of the most interactive, long-awaited IT events in Da Nang. Students had the chance to interact and get more information about local IT companies, especially job opportunities as well as attend some interesting and inspiring conferences (such as Avoid failure, Pivot towards success, JavaScript on the Rise, etc,) by professional IT guest speakers from large companies.

Our Training Manager, Mr. Arthur Aubrée, was invited to speak on an interesting topic: “Soft outside and Hard inside”, which is also one of the core values of our training framework. “We aim to bring not only technical skills for students but also  soft skills. Because we believe with this holistic approach, our students will develop completely and get ready to make a better life”, he said.

50% PNV students found their internship by themselves

Since the beginning of 2018, PNV has conducted a new internship program: the students now have to find their internship by themselves instead of depending on the  support of PNV’s ERO (External Relations Office) team, as in previous years. This new format is a great opportunity for our students to apply their knowledge such as research skills, communication and presentation skills, English, and so forth. We are so amazed with the result of this first-year implementation: within 3 weeks, 50% of students had had an internship offer from local IT companies in Danang. Encouraged by this success, we are strongly confident this number will increase next year!

Career Seminar: a great way to guide students onto their career paths.

In May, we conducted a Career Seminar for our students in order to help them get  a better idea of their career choice.

Annual Career Seminar – 2017

The Career Seminar is a longed-for annual event in PNV. It’s an opportunity for our senior students to demonstrate not only their strong research and technical skills but also their organization and communication skills which is what PN’s holistic approach is all about. Moreover, the event, created by the students for the students, has as a clear objective to give both senior and junior students the tools to design their own career path.
