Manulife Cambodia and PN Cambodia during the donation of bikes and helmets event

Over the year, Passerelles numériques Cambodia (PNC) was able to count on a growing number of partners for student sponsorships, in-kind donations and skills development support to build up its training programmes.

After 14 years in Cambodia, Passerelles numériques has been able to develop a rich network of almost 300 partner companies and NGOs who have supported us and seen the community of Alumni grow year after year until reaching 1,437 today, and hopefully, 1,485 very soon after the graduation of our 2019 class!

Growth of financial and in-kind donation partnerships

From the beginning of 2019, many companies and NGOs have contributed to the success of our programme and allowed us to provide essential support to our students. The amount of financial and in-kind support to PNC has been constantly growing to fulfil our training needs.

We were very grateful and honored to welcome our loyal NGOs and company partners, such as Lotus Outreach, PSE, Enfant du Mékong, Sustainable Cambodia, AEC Foyer Lataste, CamPaint Manufacturing, the iHerb Foundation and Proseth Solutions Co., Ltd, who showed their trust in our programme and continued their financial contribution to support our next generation students. Besides this, we also received other in-kind donations to upgrade our classroom environment. We are extremely grateful for our new laptops, LCD projectors, and computer desks from CIMB Bank, while First Cambodia Co., Ltd also donated a server and routers. Thanks too to MikroTik for their brand router, and to UNFPA and UNICEF for their various in-kind donations.

Most recently, another new partner, KOOMPI, lent us 20 brand-new computers for our new Linux Lab to handle training requirements. This Lab will be used by all our students during their 2-year Linux training, to conduct research and develop applications and websites.

Moreover, two other long-term partners, Manulife Cambodia and Lotus Outreach Cambodia, continued their support by financing bikes and helmets to welcome our 75 new students of class 2021 for their daily transport and for leisure activities. Meanwhile, MekongNet ISP was happy to sign an agreement on the internet sponsorship auto-renewal for the PN Cambodia campus. In addition, Ezecom committed to increasing internet speed to fulfil needs in the centre.

At EZECOM, we believe in giving back to the community and society where we operate. That is why, despite being a local company, we have actively supported numerous CSR projects since our conception. The work of Passerelles Numériques bringing high-quality tech training to leverage young, underprivileged youth is very important, and it ties in very well with our CSR direction. EZECOM is proud to be an effective partner of PN and together we know we are able to make significant changes in the lives of the brilliant young people of this country.

Growth of skills development partnership

PN Cambodia is also lucky to benefit from the skills and abilities of its partners. Smart Axiata recently chose to support PNC and offered to provide students with some additional digital knowledge for their future career paths and secure IT human resources for tomorrow’s human capital.

Furthermore, internships are also a part of our training programme to improve our students’ hard and soft skills, through practice and immersion in the professional world. According to the report on our PNC class 2019’s internships, 24 partner companies welcomed our 49 students for a four-month full-time internship. Over 37% offered our students the chance of a full-time job after their internship. It was a great support to give opportunities to Cambodian underprivileged young people.

PNC 2019 internship companies

As part of our “guidance to employment” programme, Cellcard, Nokia Solutions and Networks, IdeaLink Consulting Co., Ltd, ATech Group Co., Ltd, UDAYA TECHNOLOGY Co., Ltd, Cambodian Singmeng Telemedia, PLAN-B Cambodia, Rotati Co., Ltd, Westec Media, Chip Mong Group, and MangoTango Asia, supported our 2019 company visits to allow students to discover and learn about the real working environment and understand more about Information Technology (IT). We really appreciated this cooperation and the very warm welcome from all of our partner companies during their visits to their offices.

Also, we should not forget our PNC Career Forum 2019 supporters, who joined us to provide our students with job market knowledge, job interview experience and precious advice for their future lives and careers. Thanks to all exhibitors, speakers, partners and sponsors!
